Case in Point - Fundraising Event

A zoo in Minnesota was hosting their second annual fund-raising event with local businesses that included entertainment, wine tastings, and restaurant vendors supplying the food. To help promote the event and drive attendance, the zoo bought 300 BIC(R) Media Max(TM) pens. The large imprint area allowed them to print the event name, date, and time on the barrel. The imprint also included "Free admission for anyone that returns the pen to the event!" The clip even had paw prints imprinted on it.

The pens were given to the restaurants participating in the event to distribute to the customers for a few weeks prior to the event. The outcome? A successful event with a significant increase over the prior year's attendance. And over 230 of the 300 pens were returned to the event!

Our First Annual Clothing Drive! - Save the T-Shirts

Thank you, San Antonio, for making our first annual clothing drive a huge success! We were able to load up two SUV's full of clothing to donate to the homeless outreach ministry of Church Under the Bridge. Our goal with this annual drive is to help make a difference in our home city of San Antonio. The clothing donated was collected to be given to the outreach and some of the t-shirts collected were chosen to be incorporated into T-Shirt Lap Quilts that will be made by Communion Chapel and donated to the National Nursing and Rehab Center. When we give these T-Shirt Lap Quilts, they are a constant reminder to that adult or child that they are loved and cared for by many in our community. The lap quilts will be donated this fall. Stay tuned for photos of the process.
